Evelyn Irene Constable

Evelyn Irene Constable, 79, of Curryville, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her home. Funeral services for Evelyn will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at New Harmony Christian Church with Pastor Darin Clark officiating. Burial will be at New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m.to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Evelyn was born August 27, 1944 in Bowling Green, Missouri to Roy C. and Anna Marie (Sparks) Brown. She was united in marriage to Virgil Constable on March 27, 1964 at the Bowling Green Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death. Evelyn grew up in Bowling Green and lived at her current residence for 58 years. She was a 1962 graduate of Bowling Green High School. Following graduation, Evelyn attended Hannibal LaGrange Nursing School where she earned her LPN license in 1964. Evelyn was raised in the Presbyterian Church, but had been a member of the New Harmony Christian Church since 2002. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital for a short time until the family relocated to Moline, Illinois. At this point, Evelyn stayed home to raise her family. In 1970 the family moved back to Curryville where she currently resided. After her children were grown, Evelyn began in-home care for various families until 2003. She spent many years as the nanny for the Twellman triplets. Evelyn loved to work jigsaw puzzles, read, and take trips to enjoy nature. Above all, Evelyn enjoyed helping people. Evelyn is survived by daughter, Nickie (David) Lodde of St. Charles, Missouri; son, Mike Constable of Curryville, Missouri; grandchildren, Blake Lodde, Jenna Lodde, and Olivia Constable; brothers, Edwin (Rosemary) Brown of Curryville and Ernie Brown of Bowling Green; sister, Dona (Junior) Riffle of Bowling Green; sisters-in-law, Juliana Brown of St. Clement and Mary Little of Peoria, Illinois; aunts Gertie Orf of Bowling Green and Ruby Jacobs; along with nieces and nephews and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; mother-in-law, Nellie Constable; father-in-law, Everett Constable; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Memorials may be made to New Harmony Christian Church.
