Rodney B. Gamm

Rodney B. Gamm, age 66, of Bowling Green, Missouri passed away at Pike County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Funeral services for Rodney will be held Monday, January 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Bibb-Veach funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green with Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21st at the funeral home. Rodney was born on January 8, 1958. He was the son of Maurice B. Gamm and Willene (Betts) Gamm. He is survived by his four children Nathan (Ashley) Gamm of Bowling Green, Bradley (Toni) Gamm of St. Charles, Missouri, Daniel (Andrea) Gamm of Parkville, Missouri, and Lauren (Thomas) Ince of Bowling Green. His children blessed him with his biggest pride and joy, his eight grandchildren; Harrison, Wyatt, Audrey, Reese, Reagan, Collin, Luke, and Molly. Also surviving are his beloved sister, Penny (Ed) Kampeter of Bowling Green and sister-in-law, Barbie Gamm of Bowling Green; many nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Willene and brother, Steve Gamm. Rodney was raised in Bowling Green. He was a 1976 graduate of Bowling Green High School. He cherished living on “The Hill,” on Cow Pasture Road, raising children with his brother right next door and, more recently, his sister, moving back into their family home. He was his children’s biggest fan and his grandchildren were his world. Some of his favorite things to do were to ride his side by side, go mushroom hunting, and watch old Westerns. He also always made sure the grandkids had “big” presents to open, small boxes just weren’t quite enough. He spent his early years working for Gamm Construction with his dad and brother. After his dad’s passing, he went to work for Mark Long Construction and Elaine Deters Farms. He made a life-long friend with the Schumacher’s when he went to work at Feeders Grain. He was known throughout the Amish community as the Bubble Gum Man. His last job was working at MASH in Bowling Green where he once again was blessed to work with a close friend, Cliff Bibb. His work ethic was second to none and his life was a testament that hard work will trump talent every time. Rodney was also a member of the Providence Presbyterian Concord Church. Pallbearers will be his sons Nathan Gamm, Bradley Gamm, and Daniel Gamm; and Chris Brown, Cliff Bibb, and Mike Schumacher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ed Kampeter, Travis Kampeter, Tyler Gamm, Scott Gamm, Wyatt Gamm, Harrison Gamm, Collin Gamm and Luke Gamm. Memorials may be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice or Blessing Cancer Center in Hannibal, Missouri.
