Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Wright, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Burial will follow in Troy City Cemetery. Ben was born on March 29, 1948 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of Herman and Mary Louise (Stewart) Green, one of thirteen children. He was raised in Troy and graduated from Buchanan High School in 1966. He believed in hard work and started his construction career at 17. Most of his work was in the construction industry as a welder and truck driver. For nineteen years, Ben worked at Kaplan Lumber Company in St. Peters. Ben managed the Troy Senior Patriots through the Eastern Missouri Baseball Association from March 1979 to 1992. He was a member of the Teamsters Local Union 682 since 1977. He loved to smoke his cigar and pipes. He enjoyed watching Young and The Restless and Westerns especially Paladin, Gunsmoke and Bonanza and anything with John Wayne. Lastly, he enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and doing the puzzles. Ben was married to Alesia Frazier in December 31, 1970 and resided in Bowling Green. Through this union, they had six surviving children: Anthony and Bethania Frazier of Island of Curacao, Andrea Lynn (Frazier) Jones of Anderson, SC, Ben Green and Bryon Green of Bowling Green, Coletta Green of Kansas City, and Clorice and Nathaniel Davis of Kansas City. He is survived by six grandchildren: Briannea Rainey, Christian Jones and Christopher Jones Jr. of South Carolina, Keagan and Keaton Davis of Kansas City, and Ashley Marie Frazier, the state of California.He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Louise Green, four brothers: Charles Green, Oscar Green, Homer Green, and Herman Green, and three sisters: Florene Green, Mary Walls, and Lily Ecford. Ben has five surviving siblings: Annie Green of Bartlett, Tennessee, George Green (Ann) of Winfield, Vera White (Louis) of Troy, Sandra Green–Ray of Texas, and Jesse Green (Renee) of Troy. In addition, he is survived by three sisters in laws, Margaret Green (Herman) of Troy, Arlene Green (Oscar) of Montgomery, and Grace Green (Homer) of Columbia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.Memorials may be given to the family of Benjamin Green in care of Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.
