Billy H. Dempsey

Billy Haddock Dempsey, 84, of Bowling Green, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at Tri-County Baptist Nursing Home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green with Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial will be in the Louisville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Billy was born from the union of Benjamin Franklin and Lorene Haddock Dempsey on January 9, 1942, in Louisiana, Missouri. He was a member of the Class of 1960 from Wellsville-Middletown. Billy worked as a mechanic and in construction. He finished his career before retiring as an employee at NARCO Brick Plant in Farber, Missouri with almost 30 years of service. He held various positions while working there. Billy could always be found helping his neighbors and local farmers with daily chores. He was always known for telling tall tales and keeping you on your toes. Billy could often be found at Rog’s Barber Shop visiting friends, giving someone his advice and opinion whether they wanted it or not. He was stubborn to a fault but showed you the true value of hard work and always helping someone when they needed it. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Doris and Delores; brothers, Jack, Carrol, Claude, and an infant brother; and nephew, Mike. Billy is survived by sister, Dianne (Ronnie) Crump of Vandalia; daughter, Becky Brush and friend (Darren) of Middletown; son Bryan (Christy) Dempsey of Bowling Green; son, Brad Dempsey of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Ember Chandler, Cody Dempsey, Bella Dempsey, Whitney Calvin, Tyler House, and Ryan Miller; and great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Anaya, Issac, Henry, Duke, Hadley, Liam, and Stetson; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Roger Milligan, Roy Behlmann, Austin Wasson, Chris Grote, Marvin Yager, and Kyle Luebrecht. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy’s nephews: Marty Dempsey, Mark Dempsey, Travis Crump, Jimmy Chick, and Danny Chick. Memorials may be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice in memory of Billy.
