Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 8, 2012 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. James P. Miller and Rev. George Hinch officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will also be held 11:00 a.m. Monday November 12 at the Grant Mortuary in Craig, CO with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, followed by burial in the Craig Cemetery with Military Honors.He was born September 4, 1926 in Routt County, CO, the son of Sterling Paul and Mattie Vertesta Pankey Miller. He married Wilma Louise McKee in Hayden, CO on November 24, 1950, she survives. Other survivors include sons James Paul Miller and wife Lola of New London, Jack Stephen Miller of Frankfordand Dale Aden Miller and wife Elisa of North Pole, AK; daughters Lorretta Jean Johnson and husband Robert of Maywood and Edna Lucille Ehret of Frankford; brother George Lynn Miller of North Pole, AK; sisters Elizabeth Van Dorn and Maxine Updike and husband Elwin all of Craig, CO, Lucille Van Dorn of Casper, WY and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wilson P. Miller, Robert S. Miller; sisters Jean Sowards, Gloria Van Dorn and Elba Long.Mr. Miller grew up near Craig, CO then moved to Frankford in July 1964. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines and also served during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer, worked in logging, oil, gas industries in Colorado and after moving to Missouri, worked for Cerf Brothers Bag Factory and also worked for C and E Refractories for 19 years. Mr. Miller raised miniature horses and German shepherd dogs and enjoyed working with country art. He belonged to the American Miniature Horse Registry and was instrumental in developing the local ALKHAMSA Arabian Horse Association. He had an enormous sense of humor.
