Dareyl Wayne Nalley

Dareyl Wayne Nalley, 63, of Columbia, formerly of Bowling Green, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at his home in Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services for Dareyl will be held Monday, May 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory with Pastor Josh Palmer officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Ashley, Missouri. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dareyl was born May 18, 1959 in Louisiana, Missouri to Hubert and Charlene (Williams) Nalley. He was united in marriage to Jane Nalley in 1999. Jane survives. Also surviving are a son, Deandre Jerel Griffith of Louisiana; grandchildren, Deandrea Griffith, Roman Griffith, and Linkin Griffith; a covenant daughter, Heaven Jackman of Columbia; a brother, Wendell Carter of St. Charles; nieces and nephews: Jamaal Carter, Omar Mitchell, Naima Mitchell, Arissa Mitchell, Erika Carter, Jitu Carter, Joy Carter, and Joshua Carter; and a large extended family. Dareyl was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ron Carter. Dareyl was born in Louisiana and grew up in the Ashley area. He attended grade school in Ashley and graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1977. In high school, Dareyl participated in shot put and track. While in high school, Dareyl went to work at Kroger in Bowling Green. He worked there until the store closed, then filled in at the Louisiana and Hannibal Kroger stores for the next five years. Dareyl and Jane moved to Columbia in 2012 and Dareyl went to work at the local 3M Plant making medical supplies, where he worked for the last ten years. Dareyl was non-denominational in his Christian faith. He attended Destiny Pointe Church in Columbia where he was a very active pillar of the church; serving as an usher and a greeter. Dareyl enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and his many covenant children. He liked being around people, and always enjoyed meeting new people. He also enjoyed barbequing and fishing. Dareyl was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed watching them play. Pallbearers will be Jamaal Carter, James White, Kent Chatman, Moe McGruder, and Larry Hendrix. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bell Jr. and Gary Bell. Memorials may be made to National right To Life.
