Darlene Kuntz

Darlene Kuntz age 87 of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at the Country View Nursing Facility in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday April 6 at the Curryville Baptist Church with Rev. John Birkhead and Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Grassy Creek Cemetery near Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Darlene was born June 24, 1927 in Hannibal, the daughter of Solomon Frederick and Beulah Ardrey Fisher. On July 9, 1948 she married Ferd Kuntz. He preceded her in death. Survivors include sons Bob Kuntz (Pat), Jim Kuntz (Diane) all of Bowling Green; daughters Judy Lindsay (Dale) of Eolia, Linda Raney (Gary) of Frankford, Betty Scherder (Bruce) of Bowling Green, Nancy Pilliard (Dale) of Curryville; grandchildren Shonda Perkins, Bobby Kuntz, Ricky Kuntz, Sherri White, Michael Lindsay, Brian Raney, Brent Raney, Bradley Raney, Tyler Scherder, Quentin Kuntz, Malarie Kuntz, Amanda Booth; great grandchildren Kayla and Doug Perkins, Chloe Kuntz, Chelsea Kuntz, Trevor and Landon White, Maggie and Neil Raney, Bella and Madilyn Raney, Lucy Raney, Graydon, Jackson and Amelia Booth and brother Melburn Fisher (Eunice) of Perry; niece Debbie Hoshaw and nephew Aaron Drebes. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by parents, sisters Melba Fisher and Goldie Drebes; granddaughter Darla Pilliard Boehm. Darlene lived in the rural areas of Frankford, Louisiana and Bowling Green where she was a rural school teacher for four years and was a farm wife and mother of her six children. She was a member of Curryville Baptist Church. Darlene assisted in Vacation Bible School and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She enjoyed gardening, music, needlework, camping and motor home travel. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Kuntz, Ricky Kuntz, Brian Raney, Brent Raney, Bradley Raney, Michael Lindsay and Tyler Scherder. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Kuntz, Dale Lindsay, Gary Raney, Bruce Scherder, Dale Pilliard, Quentin Kuntz and Aaron Drebes. Memorials may be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice or Cancer Research.
