Eleanor Marie Clary

Eleanor Marie Clary, 83, of Silex, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Silex Nursing Home in Silex. Bibb-Veach Funeral Home and Cremation in Bowling Green will be handling the cremation rites. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on December 17, 2022 at St. Clement Cemetery with Father Henry Ussher officiating. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at St. Clement Hall. Eleanor was born March 10, 1939 in Oran, Missouri to August Simpher and Daniel Simpher. She was united in marriage to Edward Lynn Clary on November 27, 1964. He proceeded her in death on May 24, 2021. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her daughter, Emily Clary, age 6 months; her brother, Leon Lauck; and sister, Donna Gray. Eleanor grew up in Oran, Missouri, where she worked in a hat factory and as a nanny. It was an ad in the St. Louis Post Dispatch that she answered for a nanny that she met and married the love of her life. Dad went to Sikeston to interview her for the job as a nanny. When mom saw him she told her sister, “I’m going to marry that man”, and six weeks later they were married. Her mother said it would never last, but love prevailed. Married 56 years, they lived in Kansas City, St. Louis until eventually settling in Silex. She became a stay at home mom and raised a family. They were always together. They enjoyed going to Walmart and eating at Dos Primos in Bowling Green until mom fell and broke her arm. At that time, she entered Silex Nursing Home where dad would visit her two or three times a day every day until his passing. We are thankful for her life and love. Surviving are her daughters, Ellen (Scott) Meyer of Bowing Green, Elaine (Mike) Boni of Washington; son Edward Lynn Clary Jr.(Liz) of Independence, Missouri; brother Danny (Theresa) Simpher of Benton, Missouri; sisters, Darlene Fisher of Williamsburg, Missouri and Delores Pazedera of Ciboli, Texasl grandkids: Emily Meyer of Plano, Texas and Evan Meyer of Columbia, Missouri, Brandon Clary and special friend Megan, Logan Boni of Washington, Missouri, Heather Crawford-Perry of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Edward Lynn Clary III of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Justin Clary of Independence, Missouri; great-grandchildren: Luke, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Stevie, Owen, Margo, Nora, Bella, and Sophie; along with many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Silex Nursing Home for the care she received there; special friends at Silex Nursing home Betty and Becky; all the nurses and aides, especially Sandy, Kim and Aarin; and all the other nurses and aides; dear friends, Barb and Ed Huber and Jeff Momphard of Silex; also to Ryan Bibb and Angi Korte at Bibb-Veach for making a difficult time easier.
