Frank Henry Koster

Frank Henry Koster, age 81, of Silex, MO, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, with his wife by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes in Silex, MO with Pastor Steven Gamble officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Silex. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Frank was born at his family’s home in rural Silex, February 10, 1944, the son of Isaac Henry and Pearl (Welch) Koster. Born and raised in Silex, Frank attended Silex School until the age of 16 years old, when he left school to begin his first job working on cars for Remferd Mudd. Frank continued his working career for Bill Logan, Stanley Polman, Mick Mehler and Dick Thompson, before he began working on buses for Denny Miller, where he began working full time in 1985 and retired in 2015. Frank married Bonnie Lee Overall on May 18, 1974, at the New Salem Baptist Church in Winfield, and together they raised a family that Frank was proud of. Frank became a Christian by accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 2017 and was a follower of the Assembly of God faith. He enjoyed welding, working on cars and junking. His prize vehicle was a 1966 GTO that he painted red. In his free time, Frank enjoyed watching old westerns, especially John Wayne movies, and listening to classic country music. He and Bonnie traveled to the PTL Club (Praise The Lord) in South Carolina and enjoyed camping. Survivors include his wife Bonnie of Silex; sons Frank Koster, Jr. of Elsberry, Joshua Nathan Koster of Silex and daughter-in-law Lisa of Illinois; daughter April Dawn Koster of Silex; grandchildren Christian Hart Koester, Caleb Rennecker, Navida Roed, Timothy Lee Roed II, Evan Wyatt Roed, Lucius Kelvin Roed, Avianna Marie Richardson, Selena Dyess, Christopher Dyess Jr., Leia Rose Dyess, Chloe Anita Channell, Ehtan Koster, and Alaina Jolie Koster; great-grandchild Aurora Rosielynn Lewis Dyess; siblings Shirley Walton of Silex, Dora Stoffel of California, Henrietta McSherry of Camden Point, MO, Ella (Gene) Gillogly of Kansas City, MO, Angie Boston of Bradley, FL, Margie Rowlings of Excelsior Springs, MO, Maggie Ross of Shawnee, KS; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, baby son Jeremiah Koster, daughter Diana Lynn Roed, and sister Gertie Rose. Serving as pallbearers will be Denny Miller, Tristan Hickman, Tim Nothaker, Gene Nothaker, Neal Nothaker, and George Mehler. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes in Bowling Green, MO.
