Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday August 6 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery near Bowling Green with military rites by VFW Post #5553 and the Missouri Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Moss was born on September 12, 1947 in Piedmont, the son of Kirby William and Dorothy Davis Stroker Moss. On September 28, 1990 he married Kathy Wiler in Louisiana. She survives. Also surviving are two sons Jordan Moss of Bowling Green, Aaron Moss of New Hartford; three daughters Shannon Wiler of Bowling Green, Renee Hayes and husband Richard of Waynesville, Traci Edger of Bowling Green; his mother Dorothy Moss of Bowling Green; six grandchildren Christopher Esparza, Morgan Rose, Kelsey Moss, Braden Hayes, Cassandra Hayes, Nathan Fererro; sister Sherry Clawson of New Port Richey, FL.; in-laws Theresa Trower of Auxvasse, Steve and Shelly Wiler of New Hartford, Kenny and Gala Wiler of Holts Summit and Brian and Lisa Wiler of New Bloomfield, Debbie Wiler of Troy and Karl Wiler of Winchester, TN. Preceding him in death were daughter Vickie Downey, Father, granddaughter Brittany Downey and brother-in-law Bob Clawson. He was a lifetime resident of Pike County. Mr. Moss served his country proudly from 1966 to 1969 in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He was a member of VFW Post 5553. He worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation from 1972 to 1992 as a construction worker until his retirement. He also was a farmer. He enjoyed shooting black powder guns, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyron Trower, Will Wiler, Brian Wasson, Austin Wasson, Brady Wiler and Nathan Fererro. Memorials may be made to the family of George Moss.
