Grant Charles Gruszka

Grant Charles Gruszka, 39, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Boone Memorial Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Services for Grant will be Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed immediately by services. Brother Don Amelung will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Grant was born December 18, 1986, in Alliance, Nebraska to Regan Gruszka and Linda Gruszka Brewster. The family moved to Naples, Idaho in 1990. Grant is survived by his mother, Linda Gruszka Brewster of Bowling Green; his brother, Christopher Gruszka (Christie); nieces, Gillian and Balyee; and nephew, Jamie, all of Raymond, New Hampshire; and his nephew, Joseph (Wendy); great-nephews, Daylyn and Brexton; his great-niece, Laney; and his nephew, Nick Gruszka, all of Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his father, Regan Gruszka of Naples, Idaho; his grandparents, Charles and Mary Brewster of Bowling Green and Walter and Irene Gruszka of St. Cloud, Minnesota; his uncle and aunt, Alvin and Kathy Brewster; and cousin, John Brewster, all of Bowling Green. Grant grew up in the Naples and Bonners Ferry, Idaho area. He attended Naples Grade School, then went to Bonners Ferry Jr. High and High School. He was a 2005 graduate of Bonners Ferry High School where he was active in sports, playing basketball and football, as well as academics, being an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. Grant was diagnosed with myotonic Muscular Dystrophy at 19, which affected his life and the disability that followed. He moved to Bowling Green in 2017 from Idaho to live with his mother as his disability worsened. Grant enjoyed traveling, sports, and fishing while he still could physically, as well as playing video games on his PlayStation. He enjoyed visiting with his friends in Idaho and his family and cousins once he moved to Bowling Green. Grant was a very loving and caring person who will be missed by all that loved and knew him. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
