Helen Dwyer

Helen Dwyer, age 90 of Troy, formerly of Silex, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation for Helen Dwyer will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. She was born May 3, 1924 in St. Louis, the daughter of Mike and Mary Serddji Meleganics. On November 16, 1946, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, she married Charles Eugene Dwyer. He survives. Also surviving are daughters Pam Muensterman (Art) of Troy, Jeanne Kirchoff (Ken) of Silex, Sandra Sullivan (Pat) of St. Charles, Karen Clark of Wentzville, Debbie Dawdy (Les) of Macon, Cynthia James (Bill) of Gaffney, SC, Sherry Jerome (Darrin) of Centralia; grandchildren Denise Harvey Suzie Plackemeier, Jessica Downs, Bryan Kirchoff, Scott Kirchoff, Kelly Sullivan, Megan Sullivan, Chad Hull, Johnathon Dawdy, Adam Dawdy, William James, Caitlin Jerome, Bailey Jerome; great grandchildren Lexi Plackemeier; Daniel, Josh and Andrew Harvey; Alison, Abigail and Madeline Kirchoff; Kieran, Mia, Calvin and Ella Sullivan; Calli and Cami Hull; Easton Dawdy, Pace Dawdy and Haden and Brody Downs. Preceding Helen in death were her parents, grandson Clint Hull, sisters Anna Casteel and Mary Eva Wommack. Helen lived in St. Louis during her childhood, lived in Silex for most of her married life and lived in Troy at the time of her death. She was a member of U and I Club (womens club) of Silex, Silex PTA and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. In her later years she enjoyed her visits to the Ameristar Casino. Serving as Pallbearers will be Bryan Kirchoff, Scott Kirchoff, Kelly Sullivan, Chad Hull, Johnathon Dawdy, Adam Dawdy and William James. Honorary Pallbearers will be Denise Harvey, Suzie Plackemeier, Jessica Downs, Megan Sullivan, Caitlin Jerome and Bailey Jerome. Memorials may be made to USO of St. Louis, St. Vincent dePaul Society or St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
