Funeral Friday January 10, 201410:00 am St. Alphonsus Catholic ChurchVisitationThursday January 9, 20144:00 pm - 8:00 pmMudd-Veach Funeral Home (Silex) Irma Marie Lenk, 93 of Silex departed this life on Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Elsberry Healthcare Center near Elsberry, to be with the Lord she loved so well. Funeral services will be 10 am Friday January 10, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 pm Thursday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex. She was born December 9, 1920 in Silex, the daughter of Ben and Gesina Schroeder Meuth. She married the love of her life George Lenk August 10, 1938, he preceded her in death April 1, 1983. Survivors include sons Leo Lenk and wife Judy of Silex, Raymond Lenk and wife Shirley of Moscow Mills, Jack Lenk and wife June of St. Louis, and Melvin Lenk and wife Debby of Silex; daughters Charlotte Wing and husband Charles of Troy, Cathy Arovits and husband Ernie of North Carolina, Jean Baldridge of Columbia, Barb Welch of Eolia and Margie Duvel and husband Johnny of Silex; 27 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; 3 great-great-great grandchildren; a host of many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Bennie Lenk. She was a very loving, caring and devoted wife and mother. She was employed for 25 years as a nurse’s assistant and unit secretary at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy. She was also a volunteer coordinator for the Oats Transportation Division in Lincoln County. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she was very involved with the ProLife movement in the church. She loved family dinners, playing pinochle and gardening during the summer. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Lenk, Josh Lenk, Rick Wing, John Chapman, Pat Chapman, Scott Welch and Larry Creech. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Chris Harrell, Bill Baldridge, Bob Baldridge, Brian Welch and Joe Lenk. Memorials may be given to the St. Alphonsus School or your choice of a hospice. 800x600
