Judy Mae Niemeyer

Judy Mae Niemeyer, 77, of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at her home. Funeral services for Judy will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green with Father Henry Ussher officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Judy was born November 20, 1947, in Center, Missouri, to Clifford Harold and Laura Mae (Bontz) Fisher. They both preceded her in death. Judy grew up on her family’s farm in Center, Missouri, where her love for adventure and passion for helping others started. Upon completing her primary schooling, Judy attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) where she earned her master’s degree. After graduation, Judy went to work at Bowling Green Schools where she left her mark as a coach and teacher. She later went to work at Public Aid in Jacksonville where she retired after 20 years. Not one to stay idle, Judy accepted a position at Jacksonville School district as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher. To say Judy was a hard-working woman would be an understatement. She always knew the value of hard work and was employed at Home depot until the time of her death. Judy was an avid supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project and an advocate for children in foster care. She took immense pride in being a foster mother for many years and positively impacted so many with her huge heart and giving nature. Always motivated to help and care for others, she also participated in the Big Brother Big Sister program. Judy’s adventurous spirit and thrill-seeking nature never left her, even in her later years. From skydiving and riding motorcycles to whitewater rafting, she exemplified what it meant to never let your age keep you from pursuing your dreams. Judy is survived by daughters Krystal Knowles (Dustin) of Baylis, Illinois, Lou Plowman of Jacksonville, Illinois, Pamela Warfield of Hannibal Missouri, and Rebecca Carey; grandchildren: Kaya Rushin, Logan Knowles, Linkoln Knowles, Asheln Miller, and Kaitlynn Ascencio; great-grandchildren Honey, Anistyn, Haevynn, and Ryder; and a half-brother, Anthony Mark. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald Lee Fisher and John Wayne Fisher; and a daughter, Karma Niemeyer. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
