Marjorie Darlene Elliott

Marjorie Darlene Elliott passed away March 31, 2026, at Maple Grove Nursing Home in Louisiana, Missouri. Marjorie was born August 6, 1934, to Raymond D. and Lucille Irene (Elston) Broyles in Winfield, Missouri. She grew up and attended school in Winfield. For a short time, Marjorie lived in East St. Louis working for Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Later she was a seamstress in the garment factories located in Elsberry and Clarksville. She married Lonnie Elliott October 19,1957. They shared many wonderful years together in Whiteside raising their daughters. For a time, Lonnie was Pastor of Whiteside Baptist church. Marjorie served alongside him faithfully taking on the role of a pastor's wife. Many cakes & cobblers were transported across town to the church & enjoyed by the congregation. She “loved with food” being a terrific cook who fed her family and guests well. Even after moving to Bowling Green in later years, she continued to host family gatherings. Marjorie & Lonnie would create crafts together, setting up at local events & selling items. Their biggest joy was to give them as gifts to family members. Many are now treasured by loved ones. Margie always had a kind & caring spirit. She had a deep faith and was a devout Christian. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Lonnie Elliott; brothers, Carlos Broyles, Dallas Broyles, and Kenneth Broyles; sisters, Laverna Vaughn and Virginia Ferguson, She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Thornhill of Tampa, Florida and Sharon (Roger) Ingram of Bowling Green, Missouri; three granddaughters, Tina (Rodney) Sprague, Amber (Cory) James, and Ginger (Justin) Summers; eight great-grandchildren: Dustin Bird, Mary & Dylan Bird, Ryleigh, Ethan Martin, Anna Martin, Brady Martin, Matthew Hembree, Madelyn Hembree, and Bjorn Summers; five great-great-grandchildren: Ricky & Reagan Bird, Audrey & Callie Bird and Carson Shew; along with numerous nephews, nieces and other loved ones. Pallbearers were Ryan Dustin Bird, Rhett Dylan Bird, Ethan Martin, Brady Martin, and Matthew Hembree. Honorary pallbearers were Annaliese Martin, Madelyn Hembree, and Bjorn Summers. Memorials can be made to Oak Grove Cemetery and Pike County Hospice Care.
