Shirley May Orf

Shirley May Orf age 79 of New Hartford, passed away Friday September 12, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Per her wishes, she was cremated and final disposition will be in St. Clement Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Shirley was born January 10, 1935 in Louisiana, the daughter of Lloyd and Fern Willene Davis Kemry. She married William A. (Bill) Orf on November 3, 1954 in St. Clement. He survives. Also surviving three sons Les Orf and wife Kathy, Billy Orf and wife Carol, Gary Orf; daughter Tina Eisenbeis all of New Hartford; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Robert Kemry and wife Bert of Ashley; half-sister Penny Smith of the State of California; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Lloyd (Bud) Kemry; stepbrother Danny Smith; great granddaughter Abigal Tipton; grandson William Raymond Orf and son-in-law John Eisenbeis. She was raised on the family farm and was instrumental in helping get Orf Construction started in the early years. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where she volunteered at St. Clement School serving lunch. She also helped with weddings receptions and funeral dinners. Shirley enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and living on the farm raising chickens and baby calves. She also enjoyed taking trips to Florida with Bill, playing bingo and listening to old time country music, including listening and dancing to the Orf Brothers Band where Bill played the piano. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Les Orf Jr., Mark Orf, Billy Orf Jr., John Orf, Steven Vodohosky and Raymond Orf. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rosemary Luebrecht, Christina Kirchner, Angie Orf, Mindy Tipton, Bailey Orf and Lily Orf. Memorials may be made to the Pike County Home Health and Hospice.
