Susan Lynette Gamm

Susan Gamm, age 76, of rural Bowling Green, Missouri, passed away at the Maple Grove nursing home May 18, 2026. Visitation for Susan Gamm will be Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home from 4-8 pm. A memorial worship service will be at the Curryville Baptist Church on Friday, May 22, at 10:00 am. Susan was born on December 20, 1949, to Billie Joe and Doris Rader Chapman. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Bowling Green where she grew to know Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized as a child. She graduated from Bowling Green High School with the class of 1967. Susan married Jerry Gamm on September 18, 1968, and was blessed with two children, Stephanie and Tim. Susan taught in the Bowling Green School District for 30 years. She started working as a teacher’s aide for two years and decided to continue her education earning a teaching degree from Northeast Missouri State University. Mrs. Gamm then taught 4th grade at Bowling Green Elementary for 26 years. She retired from full-time teaching to begin tutoring at Frankford Elementary for an additional four years. Throughout her teaching career, she touched the lives of countless students, colleagues, and families. Jerry and Susan started their ministry at Curryville Baptist Church in July 1999, where Susan served in many capacities, the most important keeping Jerry focused on “the next thing!” and organizing various church ministries. Susan is survived by her husband, Jerry, daughter Stephanie (Brock) Bailey, and son Tim (Felicia) Gamm, brother Marty (Debbie) Chapman, aunt Rita (John) Junger, and their nine GRANDS: Austin (Ashley) Bailey, Micah (Shaylen) Bailey, Noah (Allison) Gamm, Elise (Ben) Luebbering, Hannah (Eli) Readnour, Jessica (Kaleb)Kroencke, Breanne Kroencke, Chloe (George) Kroenke, and Avery Gamm. They have also been blessed with GREAT grands: Addison, Ashtyn, Tristan, Garth, Aria, Harvey, and Theodore. Susan is also survived by nieces, Lee Ann (Kelly) Ledford, their children Liam, Luke, and Ella, and niece Jenny Chapman Fowler and her son John. Susan had a focus in life, simple but very profound; “FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS!” The Lord blessed her with all, and her favorite line to share with others was “bless your heart”. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeff Weable, Austin Bailey, Micah Bailey, Noah Gamm, Ben Luebbering and Eli Readnour. Donations can be made to the Curryville Baptist Church or Community Loving Care Hospice in Bowling Green.
