Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Dale Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military rites performed by VFW Post 5553 and the Missouri Military Honors. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. He served in the Korean War and received Combat Infantry Badge; United Nations Service Medal; Korean Service Medal; ROK Presidential Unit Citation; National Defense Service Medal. He worked as a veterinarian assistant for approximately 50 years. He knew no strangers, loved gardening, working in his yard, fishing, horseshoe pitching and his favorite selection of music was the “blues”. He didn’t expect life to happen this way, but he accepted it and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Was baptized at an early age and stated before dying that he was going to Heaven. He married Ethel Viola Hendricks on May 16, 1959 in Troy and she preceded him in death on May 3, 2010. This union was blessed with 4 children that remain; Donald Garnett Hendricks and wife Frances of Bowling Green; Katherine Lynne Redmond of Bowling Green; Alice Elizabeth Scott and husband Robert Scott, Jr. of Bowling Green and Paul Redmond and wife Christina of Bowling Green; along with a host of grand and great grand-children. William Andrew Redmond also leaves behind two sisters, Georgia (Kate) Craig of Cleveland, OH and husband Ralph and two nephews and a niece; as well as sister Mary (Black), spouse and children. Pallbearers will be Howard Anthony Hendricks, Adrian Garnett Hendricks, Harold Eugene Hendricks, Jr., Aaron Michael Scott, Robert Eugene Scott, Jr., and Harold Eugene Hendricks, Sr. Honorary Pallbearers will be William O. Cockrell, Carl McPike, Bryan Eugene Scott, Lewis Grimmett, Robert Florence, and Albert Lawson. Contributions may be submitted to the family of William A. Redmond, in care of Bibb-Veach Funeral Home.
