Anna Marie Henson, 76, of Bowling Green, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Pike County Memorial Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial for Anna will be Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, December 3rd from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Anna was born March 13, 1944 in Bowling Green to John Penn and Louise Josephine Suttmoller Dieckman. She was joined in marriage to Robert Lawrence Henson on June 22, 1963 at St. Clement Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2018. Anna is survived by sons: Robert W. (Sonya) Henson of St. Thomas, Missouri, Michael (Lodi) Henson of Henley, Missouri, Kevin (Lori) Henson of Bowling Green, Phillip Henson (fiancé Misty Gardner) of Bowling Green, and Thomas (Angeline) Henson of Wentzville; grandchildren Elizabeth (Justin) Farr of Jefferson City, Zachary Henson of Vietnam, Joshua Henson of St. Thomas, Emily (Nick) Lester of St. Charles, Bethany (Jonathon) Kingery of Pittsfield, Illinois, Phillip Henson II of Louisiana, Emma Grace Dyer of Columbia, Andrew, Nolan and Wyatt Henson of Wentzville; great grandchildren Braydon Farr, Gabriella Henson, Kayley Sommers, Patience Dakin; step-grandchildren Nikki (John Dylan) Goodwin, Lucas Epple, Cheyenne Epple and Makenna Mayberry; siblings: Sandra Kay Pettey of Bowling Green, John Henry Dieckmann of Farber, Betty Jo (James) Jennings of Bowling Green, Margaret Lee Jennings of Frankford, and Bonnie Sue Dean of St. Charles; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant son Robert Lawrence Henson Jr. Anna spent most of her life in Bowling Green, after spending 12 years in St. Louis and St. Charles County when first married. Anna was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, and the St. Clement Quilter’s Club. She began her working years at Monsanto. Anna attended beautician school and also had a Realtor and Insurance license. She worked at Bridal Originals and Bobby Brooks and was also a nurse at Pike County Memorial Hospital. Anna also did door-to-door sales, including Tupperware, Avon, Am-Way, and Rainbow and Kirby vacuums. Most recently, Anna was known for her genealogical work in Pike County. She wrote several books on the history of Pike County, St. Clement, the Amish Community, and Bowling Green, as well as numerous cemeteries. She assisted many people with their family histories, and was well known for her work with the Pike County Genealogy Society. She was a self-proclaimed director of everyone’s family reunions. In her younger years, Anna enjoyed camping and attending St. Louis Cardinal games. Recently she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, especially pitch and pinochle, and spending time with her family. Memorials may be made to St. Clement Cemetery or the American Diabetes Association.
