Charles Edward Hughart, 78, of Bowling Green, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Country View Nursing Home in Bowling Green. Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory of Bowling Green. Charles was born February 14, 1944 to Richard and Mildred Hughart in Louisiana, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Preston on April 10, 1965. She survives. Also surviving are daughter, Sarah Christina of Bowling Green; sons, Charles Brent Hughart of Bowling Green and Jason Richard Hughart of Bowling Green; adopted grandchildren, Addison Lee Hughart of Hannibal and Stephanie Marie Hughart of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Steven Smelser of Bowling Green, Delayne Shepherd of Japan, Ann Marie Smelser of Bowling Green, Levi Hughart of Kansas City, and Josh Hughart of St. Joseph; great-grandchildren: Jace Thomas, Braxton Thomas, Kylen Smelser, Lillian Hughart, and Clark Hughart; brother, Thomas Hughart of Ohio; sister, Margaret Hughart of Vandalia; and many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Flora Rembish, Nell Butler, and Waldean Rohr; and brothers, Oscar J. Early and William Hughart. Charles was a 1964 graduate of Louisiana High School. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church. Charles was employed at Louisiana Plastics until his retirement. He loved to hunt, trap, fish, and garden. His favorite way to pass his time was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
