Charles Michael “Spike” Kirkpatrick, 71, of Bowling Green, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home. Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bowling Green. Spike was born March 30, 1950 in Quincy, Illinois to Charles Kirkpatrick and Carolyn Ator. Spike grew up in Quincy, Illinois, later relocating to Bowling Green. He served in the United States Army. Spike was a member of the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene. He could often be found at the Bowling Green baseball fields, as he umpired Khoury League and helped coach different teams. Spike loved the St. Louis Cardinals and would talk at length about baseball with anyone who would engage him. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle around town until his health declined. Spike is survived by children: Breezy Brandenburger of Bowling Green, Mika Kirkpatrick (Jeremiah Odem) of Bowling Green, and Kyle Kirkpatrick (Angela) of Bowling Green; and grandchildren: Brogan and Bryson, Timmy, and Emmie and Oliver. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvette Kirkpatrick.
