Charles Edward (Eddie) Potter, age 53 of Bowling Green passed away October 12, 2016 at the St. Lukes Hospital in Chesterfield. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Steve Gregory officiating. Burial will be in the Ashley Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until time of service Friday. Eddie was born May 5, 1963 in Louisiana the son of Jessie Edward and Retha Mae McChristian Potter. On September 13, 2014 he married Cindy Adkison. She survives. Other survivors include son Brent Edward Potter and wife Jenny of Bowling Green; stepsons Jeffery Alan Adkison and wife Amber, Scott Edward Adkison, and Jeremy William Adkison all of Bowling Green; two grandchildren Colbie Jean Adkison and Beau Jeffrey Potter of Bowling Green; brother Richie Potter and wife Amber of Bowling Green; sisters Alberta Crenshaw of Vandalia, Velma Allen of Vandalia, and Brenda Trower of Farber. He was preceded in death by his father. Eddie lived in Bowling Green all of his life, attended Bowling Green High School and was a member of the Pike County Fairboard. He managed Charles Wood Lumber in Wright City until it closed, then worked at the Women’s Correctional Center in Vandalia as a CO before transferring to NECC where he managed the MVE facility. Charles enjoyed mowing lawns, hunting but most of all loved spending time with his grandkids. Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Mannahan, Rob Brown, Dennis (Beaver) Rutherford, Lance Hustedde, Jerry Hickerson and Paul Wayne McChristian. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
