Charles H. Schuckenbrock, age 91, of Bowling Green passed away September 1, 2016 at the Moore Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 5, 2016 at the St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Peckman officiating. Burial will be in the St. Clement Cemetery with military rites performed by the VFW Post #5553 and the Missouri Military Honors. Visitation will be held 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Charles was born November 12, 1924 in Bowling Green the son of Charles and Julia Ann Grawe Schuckenbrock. On May 4, 1948 at St. Clement Catholic Church he married Bernice Geujen. She survives. Other survivors include sons Charles E. Schuckenbrock, Joseph E. Schuckenbrock (Karen) of Louisiana, Michael L. Schuckenbrock (Laurie) of Bowling Green; daughters Judith King (Steven) of Blue Springs, Jean Kolb (Dan) of Longmeadow, MA, Edith Taylor (James) of Kimberling City, Mary Martin (Chris) of Lenexa, KS; daughter-in-law Malarie Schuckenbrock-Kallash of O’Fallon; brothers Gilbert Schuckenbrock (Marilyn) of Bowling Green, Frank Schuckenbrock (Alice) of Plano, TX; sisters Leona Sobczak of Clinton TWP, MI, Jane Fuchs (Louis) of St. Louis; 19 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Donald (1955) and John (2006); sister Sr. M. Juliette; and brother Richard. Charles was a member of the Catholic Church, served in the US Army 20th infantry - occupation of Korea in WWII and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5553. He was an active member of the Legion of Mary for 30 years, was a KC member of St. Clement Council #1928 and also a 4th Degree Knight serving as Grand Knight, District Deputy, Faithful Navigator and Captain of the Honor Guard. Charles served on the PCA Advisory Board and on the Pike County Extension Board. He was active in St. Clement church and school, serving as Parish Trustee, on the Parish Council and also serving on the St. Clement School Board. Charles was also a member of the Steering Committee for Pike County Rural Water Department and worked 30 years with the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1989 as Postmaster of the Bowling Green Post Office. Charlie loved farming and said he felt closest to God when farming. He was instrumental in the formation of the Bowling Green Alumni Association. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Kolb, Ben Schuckenbrock, Jonathan Kolb, Andrew Schuckenbrock, Sam Dominguez, Matthew Schuckenbrock, Adam Taylor, Jacob Martin, Chas Schuckenbrock and Ryan Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Bibb, George Tophinke, Doug Storts, Arthur Meyer, Ed Feldmann and Jimmy Turpin. Memorials may be made to the St. Clement Parish or St. Clement School.
