Dennis Ray Dixon, 59, of Curryville, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Memorial services for Dennis will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory in Bowling Green with Rev. Jerry Gamm officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Dennis was born August 16, 1962 in Hannibal, Missouri to Billy Ray and Barbara Ann Walker Dixon. Dennis spent most of his life in the Curryville area. He attended Curryville schools and graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1980. While in school, Dennis worked for Mike Jennings at his lawn mower shop, and also delivered water for Harry Sisson. In 1981 Dennis went to work at Russ Nixon under Claude Boyer, selling parts. For the next 41 years Dennis sold parts for various locations, including Car Quest in Mexico, NAPA in Troy, O’Reilly in Bowling Green, and Car Quest in Bowling Green, where he worked until his health declined. Dennis enjoyed going to swap meets, working on old vehicles, and attending drag races and car shows. He and Bill Cropp at one time had a race car together, “8 Barrell”, which they would race in Wentzville. Dennis liked attending MOPAR Nationals, and also collected toy cars. Dennis always enjoyed arguing with Don Huff about MOPAR versus Fords. Dennis is survived by his mother, Barbara Dixon of Curryville; son, Lance Dixon of Curryville; siblings, Janet Epperson of St. Louis, Sandra Parrott of Bowling Green, and Jerry (Leisa) Dixon of Bowling Green; nieces and nephews: Elissa Epperson, Morgan Epperson, Deanna Feldmann, Laura LeForge, Debra Winter, Josh Parrott, Kyle Dixon, and Casey Stokes; along with many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Dixon; niece, Candice Epperson; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Epperson and Bill Parrott. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
