July 27, 1925 - May 6, 2020
Edgar Mae Nalley was born to Edgar Johnston and Florence Pickens on July 27, 1925 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Edgar Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and would quickly tell you “God does not like ugly!” She believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Edgar Mae was married to Waldo W. Nalley where they resided in Bowling Green, Missouri for many years. To this union no children were born. Edgar Mae had one daughter, Betty Ya Von, who was her dearest and only child. Betty cared and loved her mother until her death. Edgar Mae knew her purpose and devoted her life to her grandchildren. She was a loving, giving, and a very courageous woman. She had a special love for her grandchildren and called them “You little boogers.” She taught them all to love God. When they were with her, she sent them all to church. She stood by them through thick and thin, even in their hard places in life. Though she was short in stature, she was tall in wisdom. Her heart was one of love, patience, gentleness, kindness, meekness, and she cried many tears in silence. Edgar Mae lived the last of her life at the Maple Grove Lodge and had a great love for her special caregivers, Carla Scott, and Connie Jackson, as well as her roommate, Miss Diane, and all of the residents she had come to know. On May 6, 2020, Edgar Mae Nalley, 94, blocked the noise of all and heard the voice of God’s call. She took her flight alone and transitioned to Glory. As she entered Heaven’s Gates she never looked back because to live is Christ, to die is gain! She leaves to cherish her memories; preceded in death by her husband, Waldo W. Nalley, daughter Betty Ya Von Caldwell, and four brothers: C.J. Johnston (Pearlie), Ronald Johnston, JV Johnston, and Troy Kemp. Her grandchildren are: Charlotte Lee, Denise Nash (Donald), Yolonda Todd, Audra Lynn Campbell (Kenton), Danielle Williams, Zelia Caldwell, and Don Caldwell. She also has 25 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren, and special significant others Michael Love and Christy McPike, along with an abundance of loved ones, relatives and friends.
