Gerald (Jerry) Euguene Standley

Gerald (Jerry) Eugene Standley, age 58, of Bowling Green passed away October 25, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday October 31, 2015 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Doug Storts officiating. Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Jerry was born January 15, 1957 in Joliet, IL the son of Franklin D and Ila Lorraine Fehr Standley. On April 19, 2007 at the Courthouse in Bowling Green he married Cindy Kay Loesing. She survives. Other survivors include sons Jason Standley and fiancé Kimberly Rue of Louisiana, Justin Standley and wife Jenni of Macon; step-mother Hazel Standley of Curryville; step-son Adam and Bradford Feather of Bowling Green; step-daughter Brandi Feather of St. Charles; six grandchildren; two brothers Burke Standley of Bowling Green, Terry Standley of Curryville; sister Angelia Silvey and husband Kenny of Bowling Green; Aunt Mary Pilkington; cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Carter Eugene Standley; grandmother Catherine Luckett and grandfather Plessie Luckett. Jerry lived in Hebron, Il until age 16 at which time he moved to Pike County. He was a Methodist by faith, liked NASCAR Racing, Cardinal Baseball, X-Box Games, piddling in the garage, loved all sports, watching all types of sports and enjoyed coaching Khoury League Baseball for 20 years. Jerry worked at Starks Bros. Nursery in Louisiana for 27 years, then Arrow Industries for 7 years in Louisiana and Tyson Foods in Montgomery for 10 years until the plant closed. Serving as pallbearers will be Burke Standley, Terry Standley, Jason Standley, Justin Standley, Adam Feather and Bradford Feather. Honorary pallbearers will be Obie Walker, Angelia Silvey, Kenny Silvey and Brandi Feather. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pike County Home Health and Hospice.
