Gloria Mae Storck Branstetter

June 11, 1937 - March 7, 2016

Gloria Mae Storck Branstetter, age 78 of Bowling Green, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Cole Branstetter, Rev. Wes Phillips and Rev. Robert Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Gloria was born June 11, 1937 in Vandalia, MO, the daughter of James Henry and Rachel Lee Bowers Storck. She married Dale Branstetter in Vandalia on November 16, 1955. He preceded her in death August 18, 2014. Survivors include son Chuck Branstetter (Judy) of Bowling Green; daughter Donna Branstetter of Bowling Green; grandchildren Corey Carroll, Craig Carroll (Jennifer), Courtney Courtney (Clint), Cole Branstetter (Rachelle); great grandchildren Abby, McKenna, Charlize, Lydia, Josh, Natalie, Isaac, Beau and Malachi; brother Jim Storck (Lisa) of New Milford, CT; sister Mary Alice Barton (Lindell) of Middletown. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Brian Branstetter, sister Betty Peck, and in-laws, W.F. and Nannie Branstetter. Gloria was educated at, and graduated from, Vandalia High School. She went to work for International Shoe Company days after graduation. She was a stay at home mom until her children were in school, then spent 30 years in the garment industry. Dale and Gloria lived all their lives in the Vandalia area, 38 years on a small farm between Vandalia and Curryville. She retired in 2001 to take care of her mother. She was a member of the Bowling Green Church of the Nazarene. Gloria loved to read and make quilts. Whether it was in the back of a truck or a motor home, camping was one of her passions. She loved spending time with her family. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Carroll, Craig Carroll, Clint Courtney, Gary Branstetter, Bob Branstetter and Sam Gastler. Memorials may be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice.
