James (Jim) Lester O'Hanlon

James (Jim) Lester O’Hanlon, 78, of Silex, passed away October 14, 2021 at his home. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, Missouri with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory in Silex. Jim was born March 14, 1943 in Troy, Missouri to Lester and Ann O’Hanlon. He was united in marriage to Clara Mae Standfast on October 31, 1964. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2012. Jim grew up in Silex. He resided briefly in Troy and St. Louis, but eventually moved back to Silex in the 1970s to live on his Granny’s farm, where he remained the rest of his life. Jim was employed at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for 30 years, retiring at the age of 54. While working there, Jim made many lifelong friends. In recent years, Jim enjoyed going out to eat and he really loved visits from his daughter and his friends & neighbors. Jim is survived by his daughter, Angela O’Hanlon and husband, Glenn Hooker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son, Shawn on April 30, 2018. Memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
