Mary Lorraine Brown

Mary Lorraine Brown, age 84, of Bowling Green, passed away February 28, 2022 at the Maple Grove Lodge in Louisiana, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green, with nephew Rev. Tim Graham officiating. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of services on Thursday at the church. Mary was born March 17, 1937 in Wentzville, MO, the daughter of Robert Miller and Kathleen M. Evelsizer Graham. She grew up and attended school in Cyrene and Bowling Green, graduating from Bowling Green High School in 1955. On June 23, 1965, she married Carroll Brown in Bowling Green. He preceded her in death. Survivors include sons Eugene Brown of Eolia and Ronnie Brown (Kay) of Elsberry; daugthers Donna McPike (Buck) of Bowling Green and Carolyn Dempsey of Quincy, IL; daughter-in-law Jane Pugh-Brown of Eolia; grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother Clifton Graham (Evelyn) of Frankford; special friend and neighbor Ernie Brown; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Eddie, Vernon, and Bruce Brown; grandson Kevin McPike; and brothers Jimmy and Bobby Graham. Upon graduation Mary began a lengthy career as a seamstress for Bobbie Brooks in Vandalia and Bridal Original in Bowling Green, spanning 25 years. She also co-owned C&M Antiques alongside her husband Carroll for 25 years in Cyrene. Her passions included cooking and embroidery work, along with refinishing old furniture, gardening and taking care of her yard. She was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Bowling Green.
