Phillip Wayne Joseph

September 16, 1935 - September 24, 2019

Phillip Wayne Joseph, 84, of Louisiana, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Parkside Manor in Bowling Green. Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bowling Green City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Mr. Joseph was born September 16, 1935 in Bowling Green, Missouri to Salem and Josephine Joseph. On December 8, 1956 he married Mary Jane Burnett at the Elmwood Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death in August 2013. Mr. Joseph worked at the Imperial Gas Station in Bowling Green and the shoe factory in Vandalia, then went on to work at Sonoco in Louisiana for over 30 years, until the plant closed. He enjoyed bowling with his brothers on leagues at both Twin Pike and Vandalia bowling alleys. He also enjoyed going to the boat and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. Mr. Joseph was active at the Tremble House playing cards and liked going to McDonald’s in Bowling Green to socialize. He enjoyed family vacations, with his favorite being a cruise to Old Mexico with his wife. Mr. Joseph is survived by a son, Larry Wayne Joseph, and a daughter, Lisa Turner both of Louisiana, Missouri. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Heather Tenllado, Joseph Charlton, and Christopher Michael Joseph; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sister Martha Joann Rodeffer; nieces: Marie Shaw (Mike), Janice Blankenship, Kim Straube; and nephews: Tom Wilkerson (Margaret) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael Burnett, Tim Burnett (Amanda), Rick and Dave Fiedler Along with his wife and parents, Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by a nephew, Michael Joseph and seven siblings. Donations may be made to The Pike County Hospice.
