Betty Alice Salois

Betty Alice Salois, 91, of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Baptist Home Tri-County, SNF in Vandalia. A memorial visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with sharing of memories and short prayer from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5567 Gildehaus Rd., Villa Ridge, Missouri, 63089, with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Villa Ridge. Betty was born November 15, 1933, to William John “Bill” and Mildred Kathleen (Kintz) Ronan in St. Louis, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Paul Salois on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1952. Paul preceded her in death. Betty grew up in St. Louis, next to Sportsman Park and was a lifelong Cardinal’s fan. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic grade school and graduated from Rock Catholic High School, both in St. Louis. Betty and Paul moved to Bowling Green in 1966. Before marrying, Betty was employed as a secretary. Once married, Betty was a stay-at-home mom until she and Paul established the local radio station, KPCR, upon relocating in 1966. At that point she and Paul worked together to operate the station. They owned the station until 1996, just short of 30 years. They were members of the Missouri Broadcaster’s Association, where they received many awards for their efforts. Betty also belonged to The Red Hatters, Eagle RV Club, and other RV clubs, and most recently the Missouri Good Hands Cribbage Club #344 in Washington, Missouri. Some of Betty’s interests included painting, creating stained glass masterpieces, playing golf, traveling in the RV, swimming and playing cribbage. Nothing meant more to Betty than her faith and family. Betty was a devout Catholic her entire life. Betty is survived by her son, Joseph Salois (Debbie) of Vandalia, Missouri; daughters: Sister Michelle Salois, RSM of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia “Patty” Marshall of Scottsdale, Arizona, Mary Salois of Weldon Spring, Missouri, and Margaret “Peggy” Pruett (John) of Bernie, Missouri; grandchildren: Stephen Marshall (Ashlee), Benjamin Marshall (Susan), Nicole Marshall (Alejandro), Jeff Salois (Gina), Matt Salois, Tiffany Wilcox (Garrett), and Allison “Ally” Beausejour (Hays); and great-grandchildren: Jillian, Kevin, Madeline, Eliana, Harrison, Logan, and Grayson; along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; sister, Billie; and son-in-law, Charlie Marshall.
