Dale Allen Shy

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Church with Bro. Jim Craig officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Dale Allen Shy, age 68 of Bowling Green, entered into Glory on March 17, 2024, after preaching Sunday Service. Dale was born March 20, 1955, to Jacob Bowen and Ruth Marie Henderson Shy. From the time Dale was a baby, he attended Mt Zion Baptist Church. As a young man he accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and Lord. He graduated from BGHS in 1973. He went to a vocational school to learn his welding trade and was able to join Plumbers Pipefitters local 562. Dale became a deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church as a young man. While he was serving at church camp, he met the love of his life, Winifred Ann Dixon. They were united in marriage on November 23, 1979. Throughout his years he was dedicated and active to his church and involved with VBS & started Family Follow Up. He loved the outdoors, fishing, he loved hunting, however we accused him of more deer watching than hunting, making maple syrup, sawing logs with his sawmill and on the couch, spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren was his priority. He loved mushroom hunting but was very particular who he took where. Oh, the memories that we have that we will treasure. The last few years of his life he put his dedication to God, he was ordained as a pastor and followed through to the end. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Don Shy, son Jeremy Brian Shy; granddaughters Alleigh Jane Turnbull and Jordyn Mae Shy. Survived by his beloved wife Winifred Shy of Bowling Green, daughter Amy Steadman of Bowling Green, daughter Ashley (Darrell) Turnbull of Curryville, son Joseph (Courtney) Shy of Bowling Green; 9 grandchildren Elijah Steadman, Audra Turnbull, Isabella Shy, Jeremy Shy, Aaron Turnbull, Sophia Shy, Aiden Turnbull, Ava Shy & Andrew Turnbull; sister Sandra (Clif) Tucker of Durham; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Joseph Shy, Darrell Turnbull, Elijah Steadman, Jeremy Shy, Aaron Turnbull, T.J. Ryan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clif Tucker, Howard Dixon, Levi Schwartz.
