Daniel Louis Schneidler

Daniel Louis Schneidler, of New Hartford, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church with Fr. Henry Ussher officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Dan was born March 13, 1936, to Martin and Madonna (Lyons) Schneidler of Silex. He married Mary Lois Colbert on June 25, 1955, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood. Dan and Lois had 6 children: Kevin (Cheryl) Schneidler, Keith (Tammy) Schneidler, Ken (Doreen) Schneidler, Karla (Steve) Hoepf, all of Bowling Green, Kristy (late Larry) Portwood of Troy, and Kurt (Tami) Schneidler of New Hartford. They had 10 grandchildren: Kyle (Laura) Schneidler of Harrisonville, Michelle (late Joe) Messina of North Kansas City, Elizabeth Perkins, Aaron Schneidler, and Erica (Austin) Pruitt all of Bowling Green, Tim Davis of Foley, Kelli (Tyler) Schulte of Troy, Kimberly Portwood of St. Charles, Taylor (Mason) Haddock of Kansas City, and Ashton Schneidler of St. Louis. They also had one great-grandchild, Reese Schulte. Dan was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Royster. Dan is survived by his wife; children; grandchildren; great-grandchild; and sister, Larna (Ray) Hoyt of Carson City, Nevada. Soon after they married, Dan started his working career at Colonial Bakery in St. Louis. They then moved back home to the Silex area and Dan worked for Ed Miller on a farm. After a couple of years, he switched careers and began working for the tire business, working for Kolb Oil Co., Ed Welch, and Calvin Elliott. He retired from Mike’s Tire. In his younger years he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, playing cards and horseshoes, fishing, and setting out lines. After retirement, Dan and his late friend, Harry Millinder, spent lots of time driving the roads of Pike and Lincoln County. Dan was a life-long catholic, attending mass at St. Clement Catholic Church. Memorials can be made to Pike County Home Health and Hospice or St. Clement Church.
