Hal Patrick Roach

Hal Roach (Ernie), 68, of Bowling Green, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on June 27, 2026. Hal was born May 31, 1958, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Norman Roach and Marilyn (Long) Roach. He was the fourth of nine children. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shrine of St. Patrick (2 Erin Circle) in St. Patrick, Missouri. Surviving are his wife, Christina (Tina) Roach of Bowling Green; children, Amanda Roach of Luray, Shane Roach of Hannibal, Drew Norton (Ragan) of Troy and Halle Hulme (Dalton), of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Jaxon Ellifritz, Kai Norton and Mia Norton; siblings in order Sue Traw of Wellington, Colorado, Jimmy Roach of Canton, Lora Phillips of Williamstown, John Roach (Kim) of Mooreville, Indiana, Kathy Munzlinger(Kent) of Williamstown, Joni Sheldon (Dan) of Arvada, Colorado, Lisa Logsdon(Jeff) of Canton. Mother-in-Law Susie Heutel of Troy, Sister-in-Law Sonya Ellison (Les) of Troy, Brother-in-Law Tom Roberts (Bethany) of Moscow Mills, and Bonus Father-in-Law Ron Brown (Kay) of Troy. Plus an Uncle Fred, many nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family. Hal was preceded in death by his grandparents, father & mother, Norman and Marilyn and his oldest sister Mary Clark, Brothers-in-law Jim Traw and David Phillips Jr, niece, Kayleigh Ellison, great niece, Londyn Logsdon, great nephew, Joseph Wallace and his granddaughter Adalyn Wilson (Amanda’s) Hal grew up in St. Patrick's and married his high school sweetheart, Bobbi Yates. From that marriage came two children, Amanda and Shane Roach. They later divorced. Hal then met the love of his life (the person he most liked to torment) and married Tina (Roberts) Norton on July 30, 1994. This united their families, bringing Drew into his life as a son. Later, introducing a baby girl, Halle Marie Roach. They have been married for 32 years, sharing many laughs and lots of love. Besides his family, other highlights of his life included: enjoyed being a mechanic by trade, racing in his younger years, boating and camping became a passion for a while, followed by his Harley riding days. In the most recent years, going to tractor pulls had become his favorite outing, he looked forward to each pull. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. And everyone knew not to schedule anything on Friday nights as we were going out to eat with the Dempseys. He always looked forward to catching up with his buddy, Robert. Hal was a fun and loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. He had many close friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
