(Millwood) Silex, MO 63377Video Tribute Jeffrey T. Hogan, age 53, of Silex, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood with Fr. Charles Tichacek officiating. The burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Millwood Knights of Columbus Hall. Jeffrey was born July 26, 1960, the son of Joseph and Erma Jean Reed Hogan. On October 7, 1995 he married Jeanne Schulte. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of St. Charles; sons Philip Hogan and fiancé Ashley Crump of St. Peters, Thomas M. Miller and wife Melanie of Silex, Matthew Hogan and girlfriend Lizzy Fletchall of St. Peters; daughters Jessica Hedges and husband Christopher of St. Charles, Lonni Miller and fiancé Joseph Ogden of Elsberry; one grandson Nolan Hedges, one grandchild expected in August; and one sister Kelly Mica and husband John of Lake St. Louis. He grew up in St. Charles and has lived in Silex since 1999. Jeffrey was currently working for Pipe Works Utilities in St. Peters, where he had worked for over 20 years and was a member of Local 513 Operators Union. He and his wife owned and operated Hogan’s Hickory Hill Beefalo Farm and was a member of the American Beefalo Association. The Hogans were selected as the 2013 Lincoln County Farm Family of the year. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and Millwood Knights of Columbus Council #2009. Jeffrey was good with his hands and could make anything. He loved hunting, fishing and skeet shooting, in which he won many awards. He also loved cooking and barbequing, especially for large gatherings. Most of all, Jeffrey loved his family and friends, and they adored him. Pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Gene Peasel, Danny Ballman, Scott Pietzman, Terry Mudd, Brad Vandeven, and Chuck Lavy. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, ALS Assoication or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Silex is in charge of the arrangements.
