Kevin Michael Pogue

Kevin Michael Pogue, 48, of Bowling Green, passed away February 13, 2023 at his home. Funeral services for Kevin will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory with Rev. Mike Dallas officiating. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Kevin was born February 13, 1975 in St. Charles, Missouri to Wayne and Sheila (Cramp) Pogue. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Ann Martin, on June 6, 1998 at St. Charles Highland View Baptist Church. Kevin grew up in St. Charles and attended St. Charles West High School, 1993, and attended Lewis and Clark Technical while attending West. In 1999 Kevin and Kim moved to Bowling Green when Kim got her first teaching job in Troy. Kevin worked at Welker-Young Machine Company, Inc. from September 11, 1995 until his passing. Kevin has bought and sold MOPAR parts since the age of 15. His first car was a lime green 1970 Dodge Challenger. His respect for the love of vintage cars started early on; when Kim and Kevin started dating he wouldn’t let her or anyone else sit in the back seat for fear of damaging the irreplaceable interior. Kevin spent most days and weekends supporting and watching his son, Cody, play travel baseball. He loved going to the dirt track races to watch the family favorite, “Spidey Man Chris Spalding” race. He grew up riding and racing four-wheelers and motorcycles. He also spent time going to MOPAR swap meets with his brother. As he got older, Kevin began collecting Fenton Thumbprint compote candy dishes. He enjoyed going to baseball games and always looked forward to “Sunday Funday” drives with Kim. Most of all, Kevin was incredibly proud of his son, Cody. Kevin is survived by his parents, Wayne and Sheila Pogue of Troy; his wife, Kim of Bowling Green; son, Cody Lee of Bowling Green; brother, Greg Pogue (Buffie) of Troy; sister-in-law, Robin Goggin (Kevin “K-1”) of St. Charles; nieces and nephews: Brittni Kriegermeir (T.J.), Keegan Standage (Matt), Kyndall Martin (Haley), Bryan Goggin (Elizabeth Arthur), Brandon Goggin (Kaitlin), and Danny Goggin; along with six great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, AJ and Bella. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; brother-in-law, Roy Martin; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Judy Martin. Pallbearers will be Cody Pogue, Kaden Chandler, Randy Cramp, Wes Perkins, Clay Lazear, Dale Southards, and Jeff Gibson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cody’s College Fund in care of Community State Bank, 104 Bowling Green Parkway, Bowling Green, Missouri 63334, or to Breast Cancer Awareness.
