Mildred J (Kelch) Brewer Moran

Mildred J. (Kelch) Brewer Moran age 97 of St. Charles, formerly of Bowling Green passed away Friday July 25, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday July 28 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. Doug Storts officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born June 26, 1917, in Louisville where she grew up and attended Louisville school. She was the daughter of Barney S., Sr. and Cassandrew Cox Kelch. She married Clarence Brewer and he preceded her in death in August 1973. Mildred lived in Bowling Green most of her adult life until marrying John (Junior) Moran and moved to O’Fallon. He preceded her in death in May 2004. Survivors include sons James (Buddy) Brewer and wife Sandy of St. Charles, William Clarence Brewer of Bowling Green, Harold Brewer and wife Susan of Bowling Green, Mike Brewer and wife Ann of Bowling Green, Ricky Brewer and wife Heidi of Fayette; step children Mary Gail Turner and husband John of Bowling Green, Joe Moran and wife Lynn of Wentzville, Ricky Moran and wife Shirley of Foristell, Joyce Wagner and husband Denny of St. Charles; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; brother George Kelch and wife Pauline of Vandalia and sister Lillian Schuckenbrock of Bowling Green. Preceding her in death were her parents, sons Kenneth, Bob and Donald; grandson Eric Brewer; brother Barney Samuel Kelch Jr.; sisters Catherine Pallardy and Margaret Beurskens. Mildred was a member of the VFW Post # 5553 Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, raising her eight children, not to mention caring and feeding many of their friends at times. She enjoyed bowling which she began doing at age 64. She also loved fishing, working jigsaw puzzles, word search, reading and playing solitaire on her Kindle. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Brewer, Jared Brewer, Wade Brewer, Kenny Brewer, Donny Brewer, Robby Brewer, Shannon Brewer and Chris Wagner. Memorials may be made to the Pike County Hospice.
