Millie Catherine Gregory

Millie Catherine Gregory, 94, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Lynn’s Heritage House in Louisiana, Missouri. Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bowling Green. Services for Millie will be held at a later date. Millie was born on March 15, 1930, in Cyrene, Missouri to Millard and Lydia (Williams) Dean. She attended the one-room elementary school in Cyrene and was the only one in her class. She attended Bowling Green High School where she was a class officer on Student Council and was a cheerleader for three years. Millie attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, graduating in 1950. After graduating, Millie worked in the State Office of Insurance, returning to Bowling Green after a few months as secretary to John M. McIlroy. In 1952, Millie went to Kansas City, Missouri and worked for the Canadian Pacific Travel Agency. Due to her father’s health, Millie moved to San Bernardino, California. She then worked for the law firm of Casey and Kerrigan for three years. Millie returned to Missouri to marry Thomas Hudson on May 15, 1955. Born to this union was Calvin Thomas Hudson (Sandy Plackemeier), who have three sons: Christopher Thomas (Rachel Thornton), Corey Shaw (Hayley Heupel) and Caleb Dean Hudson (Calynn Lockard). Tom preceded Millie in death on March 3, 1982. On June 11, 1983, Millie married Thomas L. Gregory. She gained five sons: Michael (Melanie Mitchell), Walter (Mandi Liggett), Lilburn (Kathy Adams), Robert (Caroline Wallace), and Gary (Monica Bouyea), along with many lovely grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Tom preceded her in death on November 19, 2017. Millie enjoyed her many friends, her flower gardens, quilting, knitting, traveling with Tom, and playing bridge. Millie and Tom Gregory traveled through the United States and Canada, as well as Germany, France, Italy, Greece, England, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Japan, and China. Millie was truly blessed to be able to enjoy both the love and caring of a small family, as well as a large family. Along with her parents and husbands, Millie was preceded in death by her step-son, Lilburn Gregory; half-brother, Harry Blackwell; half-sister, Joann Blackwell-Zuick; and half-sister, Rebecca Blackwell. Memorials may be made to Antioch Church or Antioch Cemetery.
