Pamela Jean Tipton

Pamela Jean Tipton, age 64, of Curryville, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. A Life Celebration will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the VFW Post #5553, in Bowling Green, MO with a time of meal and fellowship following. Pastor Mike Dallas will officiate. Pam was born August 22, 1962, the daughter of Walter Kottwitz and Carley Jean Griffin. She grew up and attended school in Bowling Green, graduating with the BGHS Class of 1980. The day after she turned eighteen, she married Gregory Jay Tipton on August 23, 1980, at the Curryville Baptist Church, and together they celebrated 40 years of marriage until Greg’s passing December 19, 2020. Pam spent nearly 44 years in the field of nursing. She began working as a CNA during high school, as an ICU Nurse at Missouri Baptist Hospital for 16 years, Pike Lincoln Tech as the Clinical Coordinator for the nursing program, Director of Inpatient Care at SSM in Mexico, MO, and most recently served as the Clinical Educator at The Cottages of Lake St. Louis with her daughter. During her outstanding nursing career, she also continued her educational journey. She received her RN through Missouri Baptist in 1984, her BSN through Hannibal LaGrange College in 1999, as well as her MSN with a focus on nursing education in 2012. Outside of her career, Pam was a passionate family and friend. She enjoyed traveling with friends and going to the boat to gamble with her husband Greg. Pam loved being around people and most of all being with her family, especially attending sporting events to watch her children and grandchildren play. Those left to carry on her legacy include her children, Greg Tipton of Curryville and Brandi Kesel and husband Randy of Lake St. Louis, MO; grandchildren Jacob Tipton, Brody Tipton, Jaelyn Smith, Riley Kesel, and Nolan Kesel; sister Lori Kottwitz of Bowling Green. Multiple nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Kottwitz, Everrett and Carley Lovell; granddaughter Abigale Tipton and four stillborn children. Memorials may be made to the Pike County Nursing Scholarship or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
