Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Rev. James Richards and Rev. Michael Miller officiating, with musical selections will be by Chance Buchanan. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.Virginia was born on February 9, 1925 to Ernest and Lottie House Flowers in the Frankford area. She was married Earl W. Gardner of Clarksville, August 10, 1940 in Bowling Green. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1998.Survivors include daughters Janice Gardner Hasty and Earlene Gardner of Frankford; one grandson whom she helped raise Earl David Hasty and wife Ruth Ann of Hannibal; great grandchildren Ted Leon Kealen, Jennifer Leighann Kealen and a very special little great grandchild Annabell Marie Brown; great-great grandson Lance Mathew Inlow; brother Loren Flowers and wife Patti of Millington, IL; sisters Mae Miller and husband Bradley of St. Louis, Mary Lou Wagoner of Hannibal; many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son Earl Wayne Gardner; sisters Betty Runyon, Beulah Faye Leach; brothers Harold Lee Flowers, John Charles Flowers; sister-in-laws Willene Flowers, Tressa Flowers; brother-in-law Tom Wagoner.Mrs. Gardner grew up in the Frankford area and spent her life there. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Louisiana, where she served as a treasurer for some time and was a prayer warrior. She was a homemaker who cared very much about her family, she helped others when passible and tried to be a good neighbor, enjoyed working in the garden, flower beds, doing crafts and sewing. She helped her husband on the farm. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver, and she will be missed greatly forever by her family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Page, Ted Leon Kealen, Mark Schindler, Joe Schindler, Tom Wagoner and Tim Wagoner. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dennis (Denny) Flowers, Herschel Huff, LeRoy Flowers, Glen Flowers, Herbert Schindler, Kenneth Young, Ed Anderson, James Terry, James Brown Sr., Dennis Anderson and Brandon Inlow.Memorials may be made to the donors’ choice.
